HIGH IMPORTANCE OF KEYWORDS: I can’t stress enough the importance of keywords on both your LinkedIn profile and your resume, especially in this environment.  If you are sending a resume to a large company, keywords become incredibly important in advancing your resume past the AI algorithms that cull out unqualified resume matches. If there are keywords on a job description you are responding to, that are not on your resume, it may never be read by a human. In addition, the AI ranks how many times the keyword appears on your resume and the time which you spent in a position associated with that keyword. Keywords that are relevant need to appear 2-3 times in your resume. You can use them in a skills section or in more than one position if accurate. Tweak your resume to include the specific keywords before responding to the posting. There is an excellent free tool where you can paste your resume and the job description to see how your resume might perform at www.jobscan.com The site also has some excellent resume tips. On LinkedIn recruiters search for keywords, make sure you have them on your profile and skills section. Include software utilized and if there is more than one industry lingo for something like flatbed and open deck, you should incorporate both to increase the odds of being found.
